Best Pub Quiz Team Names
Do your teams have the best team names? A great one gets a laugh every single time the quiz master reads the scores out, and that's half the fun of a quiz night.
We've pulled together over 200 of the best pub quiz team names we've heard, been sent, or scribbled on an answer sheet ourselves. Steal one, tweak one, or use them as a starting point for something filthier that we can't print.

How to pick a team name that actually lands
A few things we've noticed over the years:
- Say it out loud first. The quiz master has to read it to a room. If it doesn't work spoken, it doesn't work.
- Keep it short. Long names get shortened by everyone anyway, usually badly.
- Make it local if you can. A name that nods to your pub, your street or your town gets a bigger laugh than a generic pun.
- Don't be the team nobody wants to sit near. Cheeky is funny. Genuinely offensive just makes the room go quiet.
- Stick with it. If you're running a league, the same name every week is how teams build a reputation, and a rivalry.
Send us yours
If you've got the Foxymorons, the Quizzimodos or even the Cunning Linguists on your team sheet, we'd love to post the great ones on the PubQuizzes socials.
As a member you can upload your pub name, location, team names and scores. We'll celebrate your winners and top scores on our socials, and you can track your teams over time and run a league. Once teams are in a league, it really does bring them back week after week.
Offer a prize for the best overall points across the month or the year and watch what happens.
And don't forget to review your quiz, and let us know if you've got ideas or feedback. We want to be the interactive quiz masters' home.
